Superhumans

Legends scattered all over the world whisper about the superhuman abilities of yogis.
Those abilities, according to the scriptures, are as follows
:

  1. The power of Anima- to make one’s body or anything else as small as they like, even as tiny as an atom, anu.
  2. Mahima- the power of magnifying or making one’s body or anything else- mahat as large as they like.
  3. Laghima- the power of making one’s body or anything else- laghu as light in weight as they like.
  4. Garima- the power of making one’s body or anything else- guru as heavy as they like.
  5. Prapti- the power of apti, obtaining anything they like.
  6. Vasitwa- the power of vasa, bringing anything under control.
  7. Prakamya- the power of satisfying all desires, kama, by irresistible will force.
  8. Isitwa- the power to become Isa, Lord.

However incredible it may sound to the modern man, let’s look at the Gospel of John 14:12
“Very truly, I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father.”
In other religions, we can find the same examples one way or another
.

At present, in the modern world exist a lot of misunderstanding and misinterpretation of those yogi powers. Still, the reality is that without them, no one can title himself a guru. Guru is derived from Sanskrit words and means those who lead from the darkness “gu” and can dispel it “ru”.
The type of gurus in today’s world can be divided into four main groups – see more
